Rottnest Island

So much for swimming at Rottnest on the north side of
Gage Road

While the ocean vessel 'Pirate' was commercial fishing for dhufish,
this Great White Shark was hooked in the mouth. It only resisted slightly for
5 minutes before it came up alongside the boat to have a look; just long
enough for one of the crew members to slip a rope around it's tail!
And that's when the fun began.

The shark tookoff towing the 35-foot fishing boat backwards through the
water at an estimated 7 knots. Just like in JAWS, the boat was taking on
water over the stern and the crew watched in horror as the shark would actually
jump completely out of the water at times. This went on for an hour before
the shark finally drowned.

She weighed in at 1035 pounds It is suspected she followed a weak El Nino
current into localPerthwaters in search of food. Although mid 20 degree
water is considered ideal for these sharks, the larger ones can tolerate water in
the low 10s.

Sorry, the photo and story is "net bollocks".

Did anyone else notice the very rare Migrating Azure Coated crane in the 1st photo? Also that it was branded with a telephone number- (902) 481 3455? That is a Nova Scotia (Canada) phone number.

I think the bit missing from the story is that when the fishing boat pulled the shark out of the water off the coast of WA, it was actually STILL ATTACHED TO THE CRANE! Not only that, but it also dragged along some Canadian fishermen as well (probably cos they were on the jetty that was attached to the crane that the shark towed from Canada).

And the shark even managed to tow some Novia Scotia fog along with it as well!!!

3 cheers for the "net of a million lies" (sticks pinky in mouth, consults with henchman), sorry "net of a BILLION lies".
